Apart from living in a world where women should only do household to living in a world where women have found their potential, we have traveled a long way. They have acquired the powers to inspire the generations yet to come. It has been a windfall to the economic growth and development of the country. One such woman with great vision and determination is Suneeta Reddy. She is the milestone of Apollo Hospitals, one of the country’s foremost hospital chains, and an alluring businesswoman in the nation.

     She is the Director on board of Apollo Munich-Re Health Insurance Company Ltd and she also serves on the board of Apollo Hospitals ‘Group Companies’. She was instrumental in taking key organizations to the International Equity Markets and subsequently bringing the First Foreign Direct Investment into Healthcare in India. Suneeta is a key influencer in the Indian Healthcare Industry. She is widely recognized for her contributions and has held leadership positions at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is a member in the National Committee on healthcare.

      In 1989 Suneeta Reddy initiated her journey with Apollo Hospital Group. Her healthy education and sharp foresightedness invited the first foreign direct investment into the healthcare domain in India. She was eager to take the organization to an all-new level by presenting the group into the international equity market. And, it was her astounding hard work and accurate skills that took Apollo Hospitals to its peak of success.

     Talking about the economy and gender equality, Reddy quotes, “Our economy (especially if we want it to reach $5 trillion by 2025), needs our women to hold steady and increase their contribution in both the formal and informal economy. Some data will make it clear that gender parity brings clear economic dividends.”

      Preetha Reddy, Sangita Reddy, and Shobana Kamineni are Suneeta’s three sisters. The three of them serve the Apollo Hospitals. Since childhood, she used to watch her father, Prathap C. Reddy, at work at the hospital and from that‘s where she turned to have developed a keen interest in health care. The hospital was founded in the year 1983 by their father and the family owns 34% of its stake presently. She is married to P. Dwarakanath Reddy and was blessed with a daughter named Sindoori Reddy.

       Suneeta is a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, Economics, and Marketing holder from Stella Maris College in Chennai. Further, she has completed a Diploma in Financial Management from the Institute of Financial Management and Research, Chennai, and has also been a part of the Owner / President Management Program at Harvard Business School (HBS), Boston, USA. 

      At present, Suneeta is handling the group as the Managing Director. And looks after the funding, corporate finance, corporate strategy and investments and will be using M&As to achieve objectives of an accelerated pace of growth and in optimizing profitability.

    With such great determination and passion, the existence of such profound women is truly an inspiration to budding generations.
