Indian PM Modi call for Vocal for local

Go Vocal for Local, a much familiar word in recent time. We have to be proud of our own products. There is a big room for our products currently. COVID-19 pandemic has taken the economy into bad luck. It made the import much lesser. It is to promote small business in India and make use of Indian products rather than foreign.

What is vocal for local?

It is another Swadhesi movement started by the Prime Minister of India. Be Vocal about Local statements made by Narendra Modi on 12 May 2020. In the chaotic situation of COVID-19, where the overall economic situation had worsened. “It is time to be vocal about local. We have to make local our motto. Global brands began locally. But when their people started marketing and branding, they became global. Every Indian should be vocal for local.” he said.  His aim was to focus on the indigenous manufacturing units by promoting and using them. The initiative included Rs 20 lakh crore financial package to revive India’s stalled economy on account of COVID-19. He also aims to make India self-reliant rather than totally depending on imports.

Once we become self-reliant we become self-sufficient.  When India becomes both self-reliant and self-sufficient the Make in India initiative will be successful.

The most cost effective ways for local brands to reach a bigger audience and create a demand for their products and services will be through digital marketing. According to some experts the local for global campaign will change how brands use digital marketing to communicate and establish themselves in India and to go from local to global.

“India has always believed that the entire world is one family. While we focus on economic growth and development, humanity must retain a central role in this process and our journey” the Prime Minister said.

This doesn’t mean that Indians are rejecting globalization, but rather calling for a new form of it. Local have been an aid through this crisis and have served us to survive. By developing our local manufacturing and productive efficiency, we can compete with the world as well as serve the world.

A few points regarding the campaign to keep in mind are:

  1. The brand localization: middle class consumers are more loyal to brands. So they will have to make a strategy that focuses on local branding.
  2. Understanding the demographics: this is we have to realize where the targeted audience lives. Whether smaller or larger cities as the rural market is huge with lots of people.
  3. Adapting to preferences: we can adapt to certain preferences, taste and even culture if that’s possible. It will help to improve in the chances of success and faster growth.
  4. Language: before starting marketing in India, language and symbolism matters a lot while considering the market in India. They will be having more Indian company names while marketing their products and services in India.
  5. Price matters: price is one of the most important factors for consumers in India.

Benefits of made in Indian products

  • It helps to improve our economy.
  • Helps in the overall development of a country.
  • It helps to generate lots of employment.
  • Most of the Indian products are environment friendly which resist the bad effects on the environment.
  • It helps to increase GDP and reduce our dependency to other countries.

“I am confident that India will realize this dream. I am confident of the abilities, confidence and potential of my fellow Indians. Once we decide to do something, we do not rest until we achieve that goal.”

Conclusion

India’s coronavirus issues are aggregated by its struggling economy that marked its poorest performance in at least two decades. It will be the disaster affected among the world’s major economies even after the pandemic decline. The pandemic has also imposed companies and businesses to rethink their operational strategies. A numerous businesses used this opportunity to increase their production and exports. This initiative will make India independent and support economically. All we have to do is utilize India.
