Famous 10 film stars from Uttar Pradesh (UP)

It is known that Indian film industries produce over 2000 movies a year. The Indian film industry is now more than 100 years old. Later Stars or heroes/heroines were given more importance than the plots. They were often the driving force behind the films. Now let’s take a look at some of the stars of Uttar Pradesh.

1. Aamir Khan

He was born Muhammad Aamir Hussain Khan On the 14th of March 1965 in Mumbai, India.  Father was film Producer and director Tahir Hussain khan.  Aamir had a very tough childhood upbringing because of the financial problems that his father faced as most of the films were unsuccessful. So his parents did not want him to pursue a career in the film industry.  But he did not want to take their advice. 

Aamir Khan is the first of all popular movie stars in Bollywood to start the trend of focusing on one film at a time.  He does this because he has a tendency to completely devote himself to one project at a time.  He also values quality over quantity. He says that he is a romantic, emotional and obsessive person. He is a complete perfectionist. The movie Ghajni in 2008 was the first movie that grew the 100 crore club trend in Bollywood. Some other movies like 3 Idiots in 2009, Dhoom 3 in 2013, Pk in 2014 have all held records for being the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.

2. Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma was born in Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh On 1st May 1988.  Her father Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma an army officer is from Uttar Pradesh and her mother Ashima Sharma is from Gharwali her elder brother Karne Sharma was a state level cricketer and later joined merchant navy. Anushka grew up in Bangalore and studied in Army School. She pursued her degree from Mount Carmel College of Bangalore then moved to Mumbai to pursue her career as a model.  She wanted to be a model and never thought of films.

She did modelling for many brands. But her destiny was to become an actress.  In 2008 she appeared opposite Shahrukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which was a huge hit and her performance was appreciated. She was nominated for best debut and best actress.  

In a very short time this young actress has made her own space in Bollywood.

3. Abhishek Bachchan

Born on 5 February 1976, Abhishek Amitabh Bachchan is an Indian actor and film producer. He is known for his works in Hindi films. He is a part of the Bachchan family. He was born to the actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

He did his debut in 2000 in the movie Refugee, a war film, with J. P. Dutta which was the fifth highest grosser of the year. Following that he starred in over a dozen films which were all critical and commercial failures.

With the 2003 & 2004 action films his first commercial successes came through the movies Zameen and Dhoom. This changed his career.

4. Urvashi Rautela

Urvashi Rautela is an Indian actress and model who has appeared in Bollywood films. Born on 25 February 1994, she became Miss Diva Universe 2015 and represented India at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

She stepped into Bollywood with her debut in Singh Saab the Great (2013). She was seen in films Great Grand Masti also in 2016, Sanam Re in 2016, Hate Story 4 (2018) and Pagalpanti (2019).

5. Lara Dutta

Lara Dutta is a film actress, entrepreneur and the winner of the year 2000 Miss Universe pageant. She also achieved Miss Intercontinental in 1997. Born on 16 April 1978, she has primarily worked in Hindi films in her career. She has received many accolades including a Filmfare Award.

She stepped into her career with the movie Andaaz (2003). The movie brought her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She was seen in many commercial successes.

6. Chunky Pandey

Known by his stage name Chunky Pandey’s real name is Suyash Pandey born on 26 September 1962, is an Indian film actor who works in Bollywood films. He was seen in over 100 films in his career that has crossed over three decades.

He gained his success in films during the period of 1987-1994. His career in Hindi films faded away after the failure of his Hindi films as lead hero in 1994. From 1995, he appeared in Bangladeshi cinema and most of his films in Bangladesh were successful. Since 2003, he has been acting as a character actor in Hindi films.

The famous actress Ananya Panday is his daughter.

7. Nawazuddin Siddiqui

The only actor in the world to have 8 films officially selected and screened at the Cannes Film Festival is Nawazuddin Siddiqui. A man full of talent, who achieved Stardom after years of struggle. He was born on 19th may 1974 from Burhana area of Muzaffarnagar Uttar Pradesh. He went to study in Haridwar Gurukul Kangri University.  He pursued his degree in BSc Chemistry after that he went to Baroda and started to work there as the chief chemist. He was not interested in a job so he came to Delhi. As per his friend’s suggestion he saw a few plays and got interested in acting.

He then went to Drama School and learned acting. After a long struggle by 2012 he achieved a major stardom. Films Gangs of Wasseypur and Kahani were released simultaneously.  He never looked back after these movies.  He got major roles with great actors then on.

Siddiqui is well-known for his golden roles in The Lunchbox (2013), Manto (2018), and Raman Raghav 2.0.

8. Ali Fazal

Born on 15 October 1986, Ali Fazal is an Indian actor and model who has appeared in Hindi films and television. He made his screen debut with a small role in the English film The Other End of the Line before being seen in the American television miniseries Bollywood Hero. He stepped into Bollywood in a debut with a cameo appearance in 3 Idiots in 2009. But his golden role came in Fukrey (2013).

9. Amitabh Bacchan

Amitabh Bacchan is a well-known actor of Bollywood industry he was known by the name Big B.  Amitabh Harivansh Rai Shrivastava Bachchan was born in Allahabad Uttar Pradesh on 11th October 1942. Bachchan was named Inquilab by birth. The name was inspired by the phrase Inquilab Zindabad during the Independence struggle. After a few years his name was changed to Amitabh which means the light that never dies. 

At the beginning of his career he faced many struggles.  But after all his struggles he came out with flying colours.

Amitabh from then on has appeared in over 200 Indian films in his career crossing more than five decades. He has been appreciated with many accolades in his career, which includes four National Film Awards as Best Actor, Dadasaheb Phalke Award as lifetime achievement award and many awards at international film festivals and award ceremonies.

10. Saurabh Shukla

An Indian actor, screenwriter, and film director who works in Bollywood films. He is well-known for his characters in the movies Satya, Yuva, Barfi! And many more. He was seen in a short documentary with Ruth Agnihotri and Rachael Agnihotri in Goa.

He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his character in Jolly LLB in 2014.
